In what cases could the students ask for an academic leave?

  • In case of sickness, upon recommendations of a doctor. 
  • In case of pregnancy or giving birth. 
  • In case you need to look after a child under 3 years old. 
  • In case you need the time for personal reasons.

Note: In case of personal reasons, the academic leave can be given only once during your study period and can last up to a year.  

 

When is it worth asking for an academic leave? 

After the final assignments, if the student has 2 or more academic debts, the student must repeat the course from the semester in which they had accumulated the academic debts. In this case, the student must pay for the credits of subjects they are retaking. Students who have academic debts can, one time, during the time of their studies, take an academic leave and study the subjects (modules) that they fell behind on while paying for the credits of the subjects they are repaying. In this case the student. This way the student can save their government-financed spot if they had one in the first place.

Academic debt - a level of study achievements lower than the established threshold for a study subject (module) attained upon expiry of the period for the retake of full credits at the Commission.

 

What to do if you want to have an academic leave?

When the academic leave is over, the students must request for continuation of their studies. If the student does not comeback after his academic leave, he is going to be terminated from the lists of the university. 

 

The status of a student is not lost during the academic leave. After the academic leave, the student can continue to study in their government-financed spot if they had one before going on academic leave.
